Lava Hot Springs

Ready to go swimming!

Helping to get stuff into the hotel room.

In this pic the girls were falling onto the bed. They thought it was so funny.

This kid will lick anything.
Brooklyn posing for us.

Kenzie pretending like she is asleep. On a different note, this kid can do a back float all by herself! We practiced at the hot pools and she did it for like 5 seconds. She just loves the water.

Last Monday and Tuesday we went to Lava Hot Springs. We are loving that Tom's days off can land in the middle of the week because he works 4 days on and 4 days off. So, on his days off we decided to get out of town (1 1/2 hours away). It was fun to use one of the hotel nights that I won at the silent auction last Fall ($10 for this night's stay!). The hotel we stayed at only had 1 other guest in it so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. In the basement they had some soaking pools that were glorified hot tubs with spring water coming in. Very nice! Tom also surprised me and booked me a massage. That was glorious. So, we left Monday afternoon and went straight to the public Lava pools. We were there for 2 hours and completely exhausted after we were done. There are 5 different pools there that have different heat levels and depths. After the pools we ate a little restaurant (dive). We had our choice between 2 places to eat. Well, let's just say that everything tasted the same. I think they used like the same 5 ingredients to create their menu. It was fun to just be together. After dinner we went back to our hotel and soaked in the basement tubs and I got my massage. That night we were all asleep by ten. In the morning we went down to a breakfast room and had a big breakfast. The girls were excited to go swimming again so we went to the soaking tubs again, went swimming at their other pools, then packed up and went home in time for dinner. What a relaxing and fun 2 days. The girls absolutely loved it! I love little spontaneous trips like this. We have more pics, but they are on a disposable waterproof camera because we didn't want to destroy our camera. So...another post.
