My self-sufficient kids

Brooklyn and Kenzie are such monkeys.  After my shower I went looking for them and all I could hear were giggles coming from the pantry closet.  So, I knew something was up.  This is what I found.  I think it is funny how they used the step stool as a chair and got their own snack.   

Teeter Totter (sp?)

When the girls were in the tub Brooklyn was building something along the wall.  I asked her what it was and she said "it's a teeter totter, like at Boise Grayma's house."  She is so inventive.  I like how she used the tiger and little people to hold it up. 

The many faces of Mackenzie!

This kid cracks me up!  She is always pulling goofy faces and making funny comments.  Today I told her that I would let her sleep anywhere she wanted.  (I need to clean their room and hang up their clothes from doing laundry) She told me she wanted to sleep in the tub.  I laughed then she said she wanted to sleep in the basement in a box.  Where does she get this stuff?  She ended up on the floor in the closet in the spare bedroom.  What a funny kid.

These pics were taken in Boise in my parent's backyard. I think it is interesting to see Brooklyn and Kenzie's personalities shine through. Brooklyn is the take charge kind of gal so she got to push first. Kenzie is ok with that because she is a princess and doesn't mind the pampering. When Kenzie is in the passenger seat she totally lays out and tries to get comfortable. Whereas, when Brooklyn is in the passenger seat, she is social and waves to everyone and gives thumbs up. She wants people to notice her. When Kenzie is the driver she is just determined to push it. She doesn't care if people are watching. She just wants to be done with it and back inside as the passenger. Oh, this truly shows their personalities. Thanks Lou for taking the pictures. :)

When the kids saw Tom's truck they wanted to go for a ride. So, Tom took them around the neighborhood. They LOVED it and asked for it again and again. No worries, Brooke and I went with them for safety. :)

Playing on the driveway. This is a common thing at Grandpa and Grandma's house. The kids get all of the toys out and play for hours. The adults will play with them or line the camping chairs up and watch them.
We had a casualty. Hailee fell from the tree she was climbing.

More pictures from Boise! It was such beautiful weather! We couldn't help but want to be outside and play. The girls loved that they had cousins around all of the time.

This past weekend we went to Boise for my Aunt Ginny's funeral. The funeral was really good. It was great to see family that I haven't seen in awhile and also meet some family that I didn't know existed. After the funeral all of my immediate family came back to my parent's house and we had a big bbq, built a big fire, roasted marshmallows and played outside. I am loving this weather! Graypa also decided that he would spend the night with all of the grandkids in a tent in his backyard. Graypa also recruited Tom and my brother, Scott, to join him. So, the boys set up 2 tents and the gear for the kids. The kids were sooooo excited! There ended up being 8 kids minus Justin, Hannah and Lily. Before the campers went into their tents for the night we had a group prayer. 4 of the campers said the prayers and it was cute to hear some of the thing they prayed for. It included: "Please help the racoons, bugs, insects, and bears not to get us." "We are grateful for this beautiful night." "Please help the fire not to burn us." "Please bless all of the campers." "Please bless Pres. Hinckley and Heavenly Father and Jesus in heaven." etc. That is all I can remember right now. They were so sincere in their prayers. It was cute to hear what they were concerned about. Tom and Scotty slept outside of the tent doors just in case any of the kids needed help. It was a rough night...a really rough night for Scott, Tom and Graypa. I slept great. I had a whole king size bed to myself and a dark basement. That was a first for me. When everyone woke up in the morning Grayma and Graypa made pancakes. The kids LOVED it! I think the kids will remember that night for a very long time, if not forever. It's all about the memories.
