Travel log from Boise Trip...Day 4 and 5

Grandma Ewing (my grandma).

These are my Grandparent's graves.

On Sunday in Boise I went and visited my Grandma Ewing at her retirement center. We had a great visit. She really enjoyed seeing the girls play together. After visiting with Grandma we took some naps then my parents and my sister went to the viewing for my Uncle Glenn. I've never really been comfortable with viewings so I offered to babysit everyone's kids. So, we had 6 kids under the age of 6 and 4 were 2 and younger. They played really well together. I made a big bowl of popcorn and the kids played outside for a good part of the afternoon. Playing with the kids brought back a lot of good memories of when I was a child. They played a lot of the same things I did as a child. We played hide and seek, had races, pulled kids in the wagon, and explored in the trees. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. On Monday, we went to the funeral at 10am. It was great to see a lot of family that I hadn't seen in a long time. I felt proud to come from the heritage and strong family that the Blaser's represent. Uncle Glenn was buried in the same cemetery as my grandparents so I went over to their graves and got to show my girls the graves and tell them about their grandparents. They were both really sweet about what I told them. They both kissed their graves and told them that they loved and missed them. I wish they did know them and Uncle Glenn. I'm sure they probably did know them before they came to our family. I don't know why, but I appreciate funerals because they share stories and focus on the happy parts of a persons life. I'm sad Uncle Glenn is no longer here on earth, but I have a testimony that I will see him again. Uncle Glenn was a great story teller so I can't wait to hear the stories he has to share when I see him in heaven.
