Meet Olivia Marie

A lot has happened in our family just in the past week.  The most exciting news is that little Olivia Marie became the newest member of our family.  She was born April 15, 2010.  I will share her birth story and pictures of her as a baby later on.  I just wanted to share this exciting news.  So, just a couple of days ago (Friday, to be exact), Brittney (Brooklyn and Olivia's birthmom) called us and told us (in a few more words than this) that she wanted us to raise her daughter and that is was important for her to make sure Olivia and Brooklyn, biological sisters, stay together.  We were excited and thrilled for this opportunity.  Brooklyn and Kenzie are very excited too to have a baby sister.  In fact, every person, stranger or not, they told them that they were getting a new baby sister.  So, just yesterday, Tuesday, July 6, Brittney placed the baby with us for adoption and we just love little Olivia to pieces.  We also have a lot of love and gratitude towards Brittney.  We know it must be hard to keep a baby for almost 3 months and then place them for adoption.  We have so much respect for her for doing this because she was looking out for Olivia and not herself.  Brittney was a great mommy.  Olivia was well taken care of and loved.  We could see that in just the way Olivia looked at Brittney.  We are so excited to have her as the newest member of our family.  We had our first night together with her last night and she was great.  She only woke up at 2am then slept till 7am.  She rarely fusses and is just a happy kid.  She loves to talk and be talked to.  She also loves to smile.  She is just the best little baby and I already love her so much.  I don't think I put her down for more than 5 minutes yesterday and today so far.  I think she looks a lot like Brooklyn as a baby too.  We are very excited for this new adventure in our lives.  Expect a TON more pictures to come.  We have already taken about 100 in the short 24 hours we have had her.  Thanks Brittney...words cannot express the beautiful gift you have placed in our family.  We love you.
